Rathje Woodward LLC is pleased to announce Daniel J. Szczesny has been recently installed as the Vice Chair to the Labor and Employment Law Section at the DuPage County Bar Association. Established in 1879, the DCBA is the largest county bar association in Illinois with approximately 2,600 members.
Prior to joining Rathje Woodward LLC, Dan served as an award-winning municipal police officer for the Village of River Forest for six years. During Dan’s service in the Police Department, he became Secretary, and then President, of his Fraternal Order of Police. As a union president, Dan spearheaded contract negotiations and labor/management relations on behalf of his fellow union members. Dan concentrates his practice on labor and employment law, in both litigation and transactional matters.
The DCBA Labor and Employment section is concerned with developments in the law governing the rights and responsibilities of individual workers and their employers in the workplace, and the resolution of disputes between individual employees and employers. This includes but is not limited to federal, state and local non-discrimination laws, wage and hour laws, e.g., the National Labor Relations Act, leave laws such as the Family and Medical Leave Act, among many others.
