Christopher R. Claybough joined the firm in 2018 with a background in commercial litigation and business transactions. Chris has experience representing a variety of clients including manufacturers, municipalities, entrepreneurs, and closely-held businesses and their owners. Chris has successfully represented clients before the federal and state courts in Illinois, the Illinois Appellate Court, and before administrative and quasi-judicial tribunals. Outside of the courtroom, Chris uses his litigation experience to draft enforceable contracts that are designed to avoid costly litigation. Chris also has employment law experience including drafting compensation policies and employee handbooks. Finally, Chris’s practice includes representing clients in trademark selection and registration, responding to office actions, and litigating trademark opposition matters before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
Before entering private practice, Chris served as a judicial law clerk to two judges in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Law Division – Commercial Calendar. Prior to his legal career, Chris worked as an audio engineer, theatrical stage manager, and manager of numerous small businesses throughout the Chicagoland area.
